Although it is only 7.30am I have had a good look at the runners today and am waiting for further information to come my way.

GOODWOOD- 5.40 – MUJOOD – I rather fancy this horse to pull off the win BUT will be very happy at the price (around 7/1 on the exchanges at the moment) to have an each way bet.

YORK – 2.10 – DUNASKIN is the popular choice, BUT, BIRKSIDE (winner yesterday at HAMILTON – to be honest I wouldn’t have tipped it!!) may be the one to keep an eye on IF it runs again.

Good afternoon. There are a lot of very low-priced horses running today but it is not my style of gambling to pick them. I prefer the bigger risks. Saying that my first choice is a low-priced favourite, and so perhaps I should just shut up!

Immediately one race has attracted my attention.

The 2.20 at CARLISLE, a horse MR SMITHSON, which seems to to me anyway, the only horse in the race with any kind of form, is currently at 8/1. I may be thick, but if three of the four horses ahead of him in the betting haven’t raced before, and the bookies are paying our the first three places, it must be worth an each way bet!!! Likewise, in the same race, MAL AND DAVE (that is one horse not two! A poor attempt at humour!) also at 8/1. That is a done deal.

Another one that may be worth a bet is MYTVIL in the 4.00 at CHEPSTOW. David Probert, last time it ran, was a whisker away from winning at 100/1!!!!!!! Those kind of odds will not happen again, and it may not win, but with decent odds….

The 3.10 at GOODWOOD has an interesting runner. TRANQUIL TIGER, if you can get the odds of at least 5/1, go for it each way.

GOOSEBERRY BUSH was to be a bit of a betting coup for me, my members and some gambling friends BUT as often happens when the animal concerned is running for the first time, it looks as if a mistake was made early ine the race, and at 5 furlongs only, there is no chance to recover. BUT this horse will win.

The betting pool is now £51,117.50 and the bet tomorrow is £1280 for a win & £640 each way.
